10 Office Based Thriller & Horror Movies

Climbing the corporate ladder is enough of a nightmare, but what if your work life was layered with another element of terror besides a nosy coworker finding your social media or eating your lunch out of the fridge? We are rounding up 10 films that are just as spooky as having to clock in to your nine-to-five five days a week.

1. Severance (2022 series) - A modern office horror follows a man whose memories have been surgically separated between home and work life.

2. Mayhem (2017) - This movie focuses on an office virus; picture if cabin fever took place in an office, very similar to The Belko Experiment. After the virus breaks out, employees act out of character with no impulse control. Starring Samara Weaving and Steven Yeun.

3. Exam (2009) - A group of people enter a room for a job interview at a big, notable company. The position is highly sought after, and for the interview, they only have to answer one question.

4. Bloodsucking Bastards (2015) - This film covers office vampires, a blend of humor and darkness in the workplace. A curious employee and his lazy best friend discover that their new boss is a vampire and is turning everyone in the office into blood-sucking monsters.

5. The Conference (2023) - Shows us a team-building trip gone wrong; trust, money, betrayal, and murder. After accusations are tossed around, workplace morale is brought down while participants are being picked off one by one.

6. Corporate Animals (2019) - This movie follows an office retreat; the team is brought to underground caves in Mexico but soon realizes they are trapped there. They are forced to work together to find a way out. This horror comedy stars Demi Moore and features Jessica Williams.

7. Danganronpa (anime) - Is set in a school and not an office, but the same killing-game type of situation. This is a series that follows students who have to fight for their lives until the last one standing because the school is a trap. It ran for 13 episodes in 2013, and it has amassed a loyal fanbase.

8. The Belko Experiment (2016) - This is a battle royale-style movie that portrays an office in distress after a mysterious announcer demands they begin to execute each other when directed. Starring John Gallagher Jr. and Tony Goldwyn.

9. The Cabin in the Woods (2011) - By the title, you would not think that this is an office or workplace horror. However, this movie has another storyline that takes place within an office with some horror elements, and a big finale at the end worth watching.

10. Battle Royale (2000) - The original that inspired all of these movies. The original “last man standing” film. Set in a dystopian, futuristic Japan, students are forced by the government to battle.
